What Does It Mean To Live A Happy Life, Let's Find Out
Being happy never goes in vain
By Techno Trace - October 30, 2021 - In Blog, HOW TO
Being happy means focusing on positive things, rather than letting yourself feel low because of negative circumstances. It may sound overly simple and meaningless, but finding reasons to be happy is one of the simplest ways to practice gratitude. It helps you maintain a positive mental attitude, even when times are tough. Life is valuable because we can feel what others feel, we can imagine the experiences of others, and we instinctively want that experience to be good.
How do you wake up
The first thing you should do every morning is write down three things you're grateful for. Even if yesterday was horrible, there are always positive things to be grateful for.
One smile can trick your mind into feeling happier. When you smile, your body releases endorphins and serotonin, which make you feel good.
Taking a few minutes to breathe deeply each morning has significant mood-boosting effects.
Start your morning with love and gratitude.
Go outside
Nature can heal and awaken the senses. According to Shore, nature reminds us that there is "something larger out there in the universe," and this helps us reign in our egos. She also notes that taking a moment to notice the beauty that surrounds us helps us remember that "there truly is good in the world."
Surrender yourself to nature, every wound will heal.
Just dance
Dancing to good music connects with the emotional centers in the brain. It releases endorphins and reduces levels of cortisol - the stress hormone. When you dance your body releases endorphins. This is a chemical that triggers positive energy and good vibes! It helps improve our emotional state and reduce our perception of pain. So basically, dancing is your cure for happiness.
Dance provides a full brain and body massage.
Wear bright colors
Happy colors are bright, warm colors like yellow, orange, pink, and red. Pastel colors like peach, light pink, or lilac can also have an uplifting effect on your mood. The brighter and lighter color, the more happy and optimistic it will make you feel.
Yellow is widely recognized as the happiest color in the world and comes with a scientific pedigree to back up this esteemed honor.
Wearing a pop of color will immediately brighten your mood and it can enhance someone else's mood when they're with you.
Nourishment
Research suggests that “healthy” food choices such as eating fruits and vegetables have not only physical but also mental health benefits and might be a long-term investment in future well-being. Food is the highest form of happiness.
There is strong evidence for a causal effect of healthy eating on happiness.
Fitness
"When you exercise, it increases endorphins, dopamine, adrenaline, and endocannabinoid -- these are all brain chemicals associated with feeling happy, feeling confident, feeling capable, feeling less anxiety and stress, and even less physical pain," McGonigal says. Studies by the US Department of Health have shown that 30 to 60 minutes of exercise, 3 to 5 times per week will give you significant mental health benefits. Even just 10 minutes of exercise is helpful for a quick boost in your physical and mental health, according to research.
Exercise improves mood and boosts happiness.
Passion/purpose
The purpose is where we find meaning—what we want to do and contribute. Purpose certainly can be linked to your job or career, but many people don't find their purpose in their work. And even if it is linked, the purpose is broader than just a job. There are a lot of commonly known purposes in life, like Providing for your family. Living a successful life. Making positive connections with others and enjoying those around you.
Your life purpose consists of the central motivating aims of your life.
Anger and resentment
Acknowledge your emotions about the harm done to you and how they affect your behavior, and work to release them. Choose to forgive the person who's offended you. Move away from your role as a victim and release the control and power the offending person and situation have had in your life. Here are some ways to reduce anger
- Think before you speak.
- Once you're calm, express your anger.
- Get some exercise.
- Take a timeout.
- Identify possible solutions.
- Stick with 'I' statements.
- Don't hold a grudge.
- Use humor to release tension.
It’s impossible to be happy if you’re always angry and holding onto resentment.
Your tribe
They say your vibe attracts your tribe. Many positive psychologists have identified relationships with others as the most important feature of a long and happy life. Dan Buettner, the founder of the Blue Zones movement, believes loneliness is the greatest public threat to health in the United States. These days even online you can attract your tribe.
Tribe is a community that has shared interests and provides support to its members
Love
Love is probably the single greatest factor that can dent our day or make us feel invincible. Love isn’t just about giving and receiving one’s heart and skin. Falling in love involves a lot of hormones, which can supercharge your feelings and make them wildly fluctuate. When you're around the person you love, increases in dopamine and norepinephrine lead to feelings of: pleasure.
Being in love releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter that controls the brain's reward and pleasure center, which makes couples feel happy around each other.
